Nonsurgical facial rejuvenation treatments such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers have become increasingly popular in recent years. In large part this is due to how very effective these treatments can be at treating visible signs of aging – all without the risks and downtime associated with surgical procedures. And while injectable treatments cannot produce the same dramatic and lasting results as surgical options, they are a good alternative for some of our patients.
The best way to learn which options will best help you reach your goals is through a one-on-one consultation with board-certified Pasadena plastic surgeon Dr. Martin O’Toole. Call (626) 689-7800 to schedule your free consultation today.
A new study published in the journal JAMA Dermatology, reports that complications with BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers occur in approximately 1 out of every 416 patients – or around .25 percent of the time. However, while the study looked at results from 20,399 procedures, all were performed by licensed dermatologists or board-certified plastic surgeons, which could have skewed results to some extent. It is important to remember that risks are significantly increased when you go to a spa or discount provider for cosmetic injections.
