Recovery
How Long Is My Chin Augmentation Recovery?
Bandages will be applied after your procedure to help with your recovery. You will experience some swelling, bruising, and soreness in the surgical area; however, these side effects will dissipate over the next few weeks as your body heals. Most patients return to work after five to seven days. Light exercise can be resumed after a week, though you should wait two to three weeks (or until cleared by Dr. O’Toole) to engage in any strenuous activity.
Scarring
Will I Have Scars After Chin Augmentation?
Due to the placement of the incisions (inside the mouth or under the chin), there will be little to no visible scarring, and what scars do result from the procedure will become less visible over time.
Cost
How Much Is Chin Augmentation?
Like any cosmetic procedure, chin augmentation cost varies from patient to patient and is dependent on several factors, including the specific implant and anesthesia used for the procedure. At your consultation, you will be given a cost estimate for your chin augmentation surgery.
Financing options are available.
Pain
Is Chin Augmentation Painful?
You should not experience any pain or discomfort during your procedure, since anesthesia will be used. If your pain increases during your recovery, it is important that you contact Dr. O’Toole as soon as you can.
FAQS
-
When will I see my chin augmentation results?
Because of the swelling in the chin area after your surgery, it can take anywhere from three to four months for your final results to settle and become evident. However, once they do, you will find yourself with a more pronounced chin that allows for your entire face to look and feel more contoured and balanced.
-
How long will my chin augmentation results last?
Chin implants are meant to last your entire life. While you may have corrective surgery if you are unhappy with your chin results, you should be able to enjoy your more pronounced chin aesthetic as long as you desire. It is important to understand that chin augmentation surgery cannot keep the normal effects of aging from occurring.
-
Will my chin augmentation affect my neck?
Liposuction may be used in the procedure to help reduce the presence of stubborn fat in your neck, and your new and more pronounced chin can help your neck look thinner and more defined.
